Clinical Transition Pathway

The Clinical Transition Pathway supports OT’s with over two years of clinical experience. This pathway will support your transition to private practice whether you come from the public sector, have been away from work for a prolonged period of time or have self-identified goals to continue to build your practice.

  • Mentorship Expertise

Our mentorship team brings together over 30 years of combined clinical experience ensuring evidence‑informed guidance and leadership.

  • Gradual Caseload Integration

Client cases are introduced gradually allowing mentees to build their practice competently and confidently. They learn to work efficiently and at a sustainable pace and maintain high-quality client care.

  • Reflective Clinical Case Reviews

A foundational piece of private practice is being able to review clinical scenarios and discuss treatment options with other practitioners. Regularly scheduled clinical case reviews allow the opportunity to discuss your caseload and/or focus learning on a specific topic area.

  • Stakeholder Support

Experienced clinicians come with a variety of clinical expertise and, often, require support to learn the ropes of working with various stakeholders in the private sector. Our team provides guidance on how to work within various systems like WorkSafe BC, ICBC, Extended Health and more to ease the transition in private practice.

  • On-call Clinical Support

Real‑time access to experienced mentors is available for clinical reasoning, treatment planning and decision‑making support as needed.

  • Collaborative Quality Assurance

A mutual quality assurance approach promotes shared accountability, reflective practice and reassurance that clinical standards and professional expectations are being met. We strive for excellence and support our clinicians to do so as well.

  • Navigating the Playground of Private Practice

One of the best parts of being an OT in private practice is being able to use the community as a rehabilitation “playground” and be creative in how you work with clients. Our team supports you in thinking outside the box in your assessment and treatment skills while providing excellent care.

  • Work Hard to Play Hard

One of the biggest reasons OT’s enjoy private practice is the sense of flexibility and autonomy. A key part of our mentorship includes learning how to work hard to play hard. We focus on building efficiency into how you work so you can spend your time on what matters most. At Trilight Health, administrative staff ensure you can work easily and focus on client care.

  • 1:1 Shadowing Opportunities

One of our philosophies at Trilight Health is that a strong clinician never stops learning. For this reason, we encourage and support shadowing opportunities as you choose to be helpful. This could include you shadowing one of your mentors and/or having a mentor shadow you to provide feedback. This is mutually agreed upon to support your learning goals.

  • Clinical Resource Toolbox

Access to a comprehensive database provides clinical tools, templates, policies and learning resources to support consistent and informed practice.
