  • That’s up to you! Prior to setting up any formal services, your clinician will discuss what your goals are and how to best address them. In-person services can be provided at your home, workplace or in the community. Virtual video sessions are provided through a secure online platform.

  • Treatment is typically billed at an hourly rate (with some exceptions) and can be invoiced directly to you or to your insurer/employer. Approval is required prior to services starting. Rates are variable dependent on services being provided.

  • No - for any private services you do not need a referral and can get started right away. For any services funded through an insurance provider, such as WorkSafe BC or ICBC, approval is required prior to starting services. Reach out to our team and we can help get you started!

  • It depends - it is becoming more common for extended health plans to specifically include coverage for occupational therapy. Otherwise, you may be able to access services through your health spend account or mental health account.

  • Your first session will involve an in-depth assessment and discussion of your individualized goals so that your valuable time with us is optimized.

  • Occupational therapists focus on integrating treatment into every day life so you see results. We move beyond just talking about strategies and help you figure out how to optimize these in your everyday life. We work very well in collaboration with other professionals BUT our secret sauce is that we focus on function. Whether it’s in a busy household, out in the community or in the office, our specialty is keeping things practical, realistic and useful.
